Description

Mazama is looking for a talented Junior Graphic Designer to help develop engaging and compelling digital creative with a focus on digital advertising. Motion graphic, web design & UI/UX experience are also a plus but not requirements. This role requires an eye for branding, visual story-telling, and the ability to work within the rules of an established brand identity. The Jr Designer is responsible for working with the Creative Director and Account Teams to create key art for our clients’ advertising campaigns & brand activations. You will be expected to design ads for social media platforms aimed at hitting performance metrics (e.g. cost per acquisition and cost per message).

Our ideal candidate has at least one year of agency experience, but in lieu of that, we’ll consider a strong portfolio featuring your university or self-generated projects.   
 

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Create key art for digital advertising campaigns on, but not limited to, Facebook & Instagram with direction from the Creative Director and Account Team

  • Communicate with Team Leads & Project Manager about project progress and workload

  • Maintain file organization in Google Drive and within working files

  • Adhere to department file naming conventions

  • Creation of Google Banner Ads (HTML5 and responsive ads)

  • Perform other duties as business needs dictate


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1+ year creative agency experience a plus

  • Competence across Adobe Creative Suite and Google Business Suite (eg Slides & Drive) is essential

  • Any skills in the following are desirable although not essential: AfterEffects, Motion Design/Animation, wordsmithing/copy writing, Cinema 4D, ClickUp and WIX

  • Understanding and ability to reference client brand standards and apply them across projects and activations

  • Demonstrated competence in layout & typography

  • Attention to detail

  • Basic knowledge of Google Ads (HTML5 and responsive ads)

  • Ability to learn new skills using online tutorials

  • Understanding of social media marketing platforms and strategy

  • Understanding of branding principles

  • Time management & task prioritization

  • Self-starter

  • Adaptive, collaborative, and innovative mindset

  • Desire and ability to do focused work in an open-architecture office environment

Experience helpful but not required:
Wix,  Hubspot, Manychat, Google API
